Acupuncture

Acupuncture stimulates nerves, increases blood flow, reduces inflammation, and generally calms the nervous system.

Acupuncture is a traditional healing practice that started in China over 2000 years ago. It involves placing very thin needles into specific points on the body to help reduce pain, improve function and support overall health.

Acupuncture stimulates: nerves, increases blood flow, triggers the release of natural endorphins, reduces inflammation, and generally calms the nervous system. Best of all, acupuncture is a great adjunct to chiropractic care! It’s similar to placing flags in a yard to alert the groundskeeper to a problem spot. The needles tell the brain this particular place needs healing and extra love.

Most patients feel little to no pain with acupuncture needles. Many of them feel a tiny pinch similar to a mosquito bite; occasionally, some bite more like a bee sting. In any event, the pain rarely lasts more than a second or two if anything is felt at all.

Illness, injury, pain, or general disease can interrupt balance in the flow of the nervous system. Acupuncture aims to restore and promote better flow of your body’s natural energy. Think of it like addressing a traffic jam - the needles are placed in specific points and meant to promote the quickest and most effective solution to get the traffic flowing smoothly again.

As a whole, acupuncture is simply a tool to promote the healing properties your body already possesses but just needs a little help facilitating. Much like tuning a piano, acupuncture does not replace the piano or play the music, but it re-tunes the strings, so everything plays appropriately again.

Acupuncture is commonly used for:

  • general body pain

  • headaches

  • stress and anxiety

  • sleep disturbances

  • digestive issues

  • fertility support, and so much more.

We look forward to seeing how you can benefit from acupuncture!
